Antigone in Munich tells the true story of Sophie Scholl
and the White Rose Society, a German Resistance group
during WWII. The play follows Sophie in the years before
and during WWII and her courageous resistance to the Nazi
regime. Sophie finds inspiration from the story of Antigone,
and the character’s bravery. In secret, Sophie and her brother
go from witnesses to activists. The story is inspired by
Sophocles’ Greek tragedy Antigone which asks “What do you
do when the laws of man contradict the laws of God?”
